Ain't nature grand!

Another of my favorite cynical sayings of eddys... trew >>

August 24, 2008
It's a wonderful life, yeah, right!

Eddys dead...ok, where to begin. Eddy and I had a communication without words, literally, we didn't need to talk, we just knew. I knew Ed for a long time, we did a lot together, we were friends, musicians, drinking buddies, artists, webcode writers, multi-platform mediaists, did theater, rock shows, punk shows, lots of memories, all good, one bad, and it hurts that I'll never see him again.

Summer?

Did I say summer, looks like I'm gonna have to put on my winter coat again and maybe my rain slicker just to take a walk. what a difference a day makes. Maybe the winter coat is a bit much, but the rain gear is a definite. Looks like our ocean getaway is up in the air, trying to find something fun to do for a couple of days, but it's raining around the whole area, damn, wish we were in California..

Hot Days of Summer

Finally, something we call summer, sunny, hot and pleasant, but it's not going to last long, wouldn't you know, just in time for our 3 day ocean getaway, they are calling for rain and cooler temps...oh well, I'm just looking further down the road at Fall, which will probably be here next month the way this year is going.
Why so much about the weather, well, I live in Seattle! 'nuff said.. Still working out the design protos for the new indian restaurant website, haven't found that "one" yet, very frustrating, but I'll keep plugging along. For some reason I found myself on Facebook, I'm not a social butterfly but it is a very OCDing type of thing.

Summertime

July 13th my friends Sam and Kay came to visit for the day, that was nice, haven't seen them in 4 years. We did the usual, Space Needle, Fremont Troll, lunch and dinner in small out of the way places, and catching up on our lives. Judy was out rockhounding for crystals with the rock club, so she didn't get to visit with Sam and Kay.
Susan another friend from way back when damaged her knee and will be healing up for about a year, that's a long time, at least at our age..haha. Speaking of age, haven't been surfing this year, and I really don't know if I will, haven't been keeping in shape and spending a lot of time working copying in June most of the month, and now I have websites and Ads to do this month. Also coming up next month is my 35th high school reunion, which again I will probably miss.

Back to Normal

Last night we went to Jazz Alley to see Mose Allison and Larry Coryell, I must admit, chatting with Caroline and Ben was more fun, I don't really remember much of the music cause I think we talked through most of it, it was fun though.
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum is a CD Ben lent me to listen to, if it were 1980, I might like it, but I do like bits of it, and most of it is too syncopated for me, like I said, if it were 1980, I'd probably love it.
I might have another website to do, another indian restaurant, this one at least doesn't have a hint of anything, so hopefully, anything goes. Finally finished up a month of work, I've done nothing but since getting back from Atlanta, and this week, I've had 3 days off and it looks like the weekend too, so, Back to normal, and it's going to be sunny and hot, so bike riding and beer drinking! yea!

June 16, 2008
1st Day of Bicycle Riding

Sunny and 73, a slight warm breeze and I dusted off the bike and pumped up the tires and hit the Burke-Gilman trail, first time this summer. They called me into work again tonight and for the rest of the week, I've only been working everyday now since the beginning of the month with a couple Fridays off just to rest up for the long weekend work. And does anything get done, not really, almost like running on a treadmill. Nothing much on TV or DVDs so I guess a few hours of working a night isn't that bad... I just better hurry and win the lottery, that's all I'm saying...

Enuff Already!

It's Summer!! why are we having November temperatures and high winds?! It's ridicules...need I say more?!
yes I will, End of Days! it's coming, weather not normal, high price gas, you can't even eat tomatoes anymore...end of days, yessir, helter skelter, she's coming down fast!

Bo Died

We just got home from visiting Judy's dad in Atlanta on Monday, and turned on the CNN, Bo Diddley died!
Today, after getting stuff done which had to be taken care of; it's just now starting to sink in a little more. (for those who don't know, Bo)
I have the whole story of Bo and me on Archive 2007) so I'm listening to Bo and just remembering and mourning.
Our band, The Names in 1981 had Bo's son Anthony "To Diddley" as would be drummer and he needed some drums, so we headed to Florida to bum some money and meet Bo Diddley, I mean he is the father of rock and roll! Anyway, we spent a week on his ranch, ate, drank and jammed, he was really a nice host. I was also led to believe he was looking for a back up band for South America and Australia tour, but that audition thing was bogus. But we still had a good time, almost had a chance to see Jerry Lee Lewis he was giving a concert near by, but I was a little obnoxious so we didn't get to go. I did see Bo again in Seattle in 1984, dude still remembered me, he was like that.

Light and Fluffy

Work is done! I actually did make some copies this month, just under the wire too. Ads are done, just waiting for the early morning get up call Wed. to head for the airport and sit on a plane for 5 hours, fun! Gas today was 4.09 maybe more, I forgot to look on the way home. Sunny and hot (humid) but not like it's going to be next week! Oh boy!

May 21, 2008
On Our Way Again

We had a hot Saturday, and then a little warm Sunday, now it's back to the coats with an umbrella, but heading to Georgia, where it'll be sweltering probably, finishing up a bunch of Ads and stuff before heading out and trying to keep calm about everything, and catching the last of the season's TV shows which some aren't coming back and it looks like the TV exec's don't like me watching their new shows I guess...anyway, at least it's summer somewhere and the gasoline is climbing up there, today it was $3.99 a bargin from the one station downtown at $4.05 a gallon...whoo hoo!

And We're Back!

So, we had a nice time in Arizona, I swam a little better this time, each time I get better, so sometime I may be ready to head to the beach again and try surfing...we took a drive to Fountain Hills to see the huge fountain. I managed to not get sunburned, but did get some weird bumps on our bodies, whatever that is..managed to get upgraded to first class on the way home, always a treat. Went to a nice restaurant for Judy's birthday celebration dinner called the Landmark, looked like a movie set with a dining room made out like a house, with a kitchen for the incredible salad bar. But we're back, Judy is busy as usual, I have a deadline to get a new Ad ready for Seattle Sound magazine for the upcoming Face a Face trunk show, and updating my websites. Redesigned Innercore to get out of the dark spot I was in and made it look "lighter" and I still have to do something with Asloc22 and Donnneon.com, and continue trying to finish Elmer flash movie for Pixar, I guess I'm still thinking about that, like I want a career or something...

April 16, 2008
Busy as a Bee Still

You know after scanning a couple of scenes of my flash movie I was thinking of sending to Pixar, I might just rethink that, the animation isn't as good as I remembered it and I might have to work a bit more on it, so I'm probably nixing the idea of working at Pixar. But, I did give it a try and hurt my elbow doing it, so I'm gonna take it slower and focus on having "fun" with it instead of busting my ass on getting it done and out. Anyway, I have a lot more Ads to create and deadlines, and they have me still copying nightly, so I'm pretty booked up until the vacation time, so la-dee-da.

April 12, 2008
Busy as a Bee

I'm going to copy tomorrow, 2nd time this month, work is picking up! Working on a Ad for 4 Your Eyes Only a newspaperish Journal thingy. For some unknown reason I started putting together a DVD of an old movie I never finished, and I'm thinking about sending it to Pixar for a possible job? I must be crazy!, the reason, so many signs are pointing to it.. I opened an email from Animation Magazine, which I always get, but never really open them and saw the Ad, plus it was a couple of months old, sooo, maybe they haven't found anyone yet...Then I saw that Pixar is located two blocks from a shopping mall I helped make an animated commercial for in the '80's, and I read that Pixar is booking up to make lots of movies with Disney by 2012, sooo, plus I saw a TV show with Powell Street on the trolley, which is where the shopping mall is located, so I'm thinking there's a reason for all these signs.. at least my crazy mind is finding them...anyway, at least it sparked me to do some animation, since working on websites, I really haven't done any since 2003, when I participated in a global laser thingy..(don't know what else to call it). I may be putting together a website for my friend Mark's band, we'll see. Two more weeks and we're in sunny Arizona! Yea! A real vacation!

What Can I Say

So today is the 27th anniversary of my friend Stephanie's murder, I found a picture of her a couple of months ago on the internet, I still get choked up when I think about that week of her being missing and found dead...I hate April 3rd
I just read a blog of a former co-worker who was laid off from the place we use to work, the times they are a changing. At least I thought she'd get to retire from there if anyone.
I did see Jennifer from Trophy Cupcakes on Martha Stewart today, it's funny, it was like watching Jennifer on TV, I didn't get all giddy or anything, guess that's what age does for you, plus I've had other friends on TV, so I guess it's just a "thing". The doctor said everything is fine with my tongue, just weird how it is, at least it's nothing that my warped freaky mind conclusion was, shocked that my BP was normal, still could lose 15lbs, but I'm working on it, hopefully before we get to Arizona, but I doubt I can work miracles.
Received my new CDs in the mail, Cradle of Filth is good, so is Within Temptation and Nightwish, all big orchestrated music with hard rock, like I said age changes everything. 10 years ago I would've laughed at listening to music with strings and horns, etc. if it wasn't total gore and heavy it was nothing to listen to.

Truly Global

Judy just told me that Trophy Cupcakes, the cupcake shop in the Wallingford Center is going to be on Martha Stewart April 3rd, wow, do you realize what that means, Innercore Datatek Global Systems, my website company, could very well be global, if someone goes to Trophy's website and clicks on the link to Wallingford Center, that would link my IDGS site to the world, for reals, that's fierce, at least in "A legend in my own mind, fierce!". I'm just saying... In other news, got a major haircut, you can view it on my videoBLOG (gotta warn ya, the page is massive in way of MBytes), plus, I'm going to the doctors next Tuesday to see why I have a sore sensitive tastebud irritated tongue, what web we weave huh?!

Happy Birthday cont.

I stand corrected, my father and aunt, did send a birthday card after all, so I feel better about the DNA donors actually coming thru. I also drank the surprise champagne in about a half hour and needless to say had a hangover that only champagne can provide, so the birthday tradition of getting totally wasted prevails yet another year.

March 5, 2008
Happy Birthday

4:20pm -Looks like it's that time of the year again. A time to reflect, think about the past, the present, the future, in other words, a typical day. But it's sunny outside and here I am inside blogging...oh well, HB 2 me anyways...there'll be beer, don't you worry!
11:59pm - Well another one bites the dust, glad that's over, not that I mind having a free dinner of steak and escargot and cheesecake and guinny, but birthdays are stressful. My long time pal Reno sent his annual email, still after 23 years, that's really cool. Dave and his daughter sent cards, and Betsy called, nothing from my dad, but like Reno, it's expected or not expected, whatever. But I was surprised by Judy again, she had a bottle of champagne and a card in the fridge when we got back from dinner, surprise, suprise! she's great with surprises.

Under the Weather

Judy was sick this weekend, and I think she gave it to me, coz today I'm feeling a little bit "sick", hopefully, I can fight it off. Re-designing Western Type's website, well, trying to re-design it, still haven't come up with anything desirable yet. This weekend is the rock club's annual gemshow, Judy is chairperson on top of everything else going on in her life, she has to deal with that, but it's over on Sunday. Then we have to make plans to go to Arizona for my birthday, at least I hope we do, coz it would be nice to just hang at the pool and hot tub and just do nothing for awhile.

Nothing Much to Say

I seem to be a little scatterbrained lately, don't seem to have much accomplished lately, been making copies at work the last few days and still trying to understand ActionScript, but one of my website clients wants to change his website, so I guess I'm in a pre-design way of thinking, meaning, I have to re-design the thing and I was pretty happy with it the way it was. So, now I guess I have to change that thought, so maybe that's why I'm scatterbrained. ActionScript in itself was hard to get a hand on it, now this other thing, with the copying work, and Judy's stuff at her store and I guess I want to take a vacation, so maybe I do have something to say, other things will remain mute however.

January 20, 2008
Memory Stix

Bad memory stix, how quaint...hopefully, my computer is on to recovery, I know I'll be walking on egg shells for a bit. At least I started reading up on ActionScript, something I've been putting off for years, and now I know why, damn stuff is complicated!

January 16, 2008
Computer Issues

Back to the same ol' same ol', my computer is acting up again and I'm gonna be shutdown for awhile, here's looking at you kid...(until next time, later!)

January 10, 2008
Changes

Looks like I'm in the process of updating everything, donnneon, maybe not everything Innercore, still have to do that soon. Need a break to be at least a little creative.
Still dealing with computer issues or software issues, whatever, it's not smooth sailing, whatever issues they are, but I'm working on it. Change is in the air today, mostly with everything outside myself, but some changes within too, this is cryptic in getting out, and I guess that's what "change" is.

New Year, Old Friends

Working hard on creating a sign for 4 Your Eyes Only for the hallway in the Wallingford Center, still haven't come up with anything worth mentioning. Good to hear from a couple of old animation friends, Ward and James both contacted me, that's nice to get back in touch with old friends. My former band mate is playing this weekend in his new band, I'm not sitting in if they ask, I don't really remember the songs, it's been over 15 years since I've been in the band. Working on updating my news page with some flash webcam video and it's a bit hokey and goofy. but, I'm pressed for time, as usual and I'm still busy doing things getting in the way.

January 4, 2008
New Year

Well, it's the new year, haven't been too busy, but just enuff, waiting for the tv season to start up once again. Great to watch Craig Ferguson the other night, I did miss his show, the rest of the late night I can take 'em or leave 'em. Jay does have the best monologue, next to Craig of course. Trying to get caught up on website designs and updates, and still making graphics/logo/webdesigning, etc for 4 Your Eyes Only
Breezy and rainy, but it is January in Seattle, and hopefully this year again snow will by pass us. I really don't want to go on the roof and shovel snow from the roof vents to stop the dripping of light fixtures. (you'd have to be there to get that one I guess). Not a pretty sight, I must say.
